Investment Update: Quantasol Limited
Low Carbon Accelerator Limited (the "Company" or "LCA") announces that it has made a further investment of £1,175,000 in QuantaSol Limited ("QuantaSol") as part of an overall £1,975,000 funding round with Imperial Innovations. LCA will invest the amount in two tranches: £892,405 immediately and a further £282,595 on the achievement of certain milestones. At the same time, LCA has converted its outstanding £400,000 loan in Quantasol into equity.
Following completion of the round, LCA will have invested a total of £2,375,000 in Quantasol and hold 41.4% of the equity on a fully diluted basis.
Quantasol, a developer of 3rd generation solar photovoltaic cells for use in concentrating photovoltaic systems, has already delivered a single junction cell, manufactured on a commercial production line, with an independently verified record efficiency of 28.3%. The current investment round will be used to deliver its first commercial triple junction cell.
Dr Stephen Mahon, Chief Investment Officer at Low Carbon Investors, the investment manager for LCA, said: "This follow-on investment is another good example of LCA's investment strategy of maximising value capture in its strongest performers."
